Bridgeport's Green Team is a KISS (Kids In Student Service) which encourages students to take a more active role in making our school more environmentally friendly through educational meetings and hands on activities.
Our nationally recognized* program has started and supported such school programs as:
○Trash Free Tuesday- Students strive to bring lunches to school that generate zero new pieces of landfill trash.
○Food Rescue- Food that is not opened and not perishable is collected in a bin and parent volunteers pick up the donations and take them to local shelters three times a week.
○Bridgeport Gardens- Starting in 2019 two gardens in our atrium were planted and have been watered and maintained by both student and parent volunteers.
*In 2018 Bridgeport's Green Team's program was recognised as Grand Prize winners and earned an Eco-Grant to expand our sustainabiltiy initiatives! Click here to read more
